This is Charles Bridge ... the most famous of all tourist attractions in the Czech Republic ... is it any wonder? Look at that view! This statue is of St. John of Nepomuk, who died a martyr and was thrown from this bridge. Statues line Charles Bridge ... but his is the most famous. People come from all over the Czech Republic to rub his statue with their left hand for good luck. If you notice, the statue's shiny bronze still exists where it has been rubbed for centuries.
