Tiananmen Square, Beijing China

Man, I love this picture. You ever go to a tourist attraction, and wind up BEING the attraction? These guys couldn't wait to pose with a 6 foot 2 American. They call us -- "large noses." In this case, I think I agree.

On a serious note ... below is the famous tank picture from the Tiananmen Square Massacre. To the right is that same street today.

In the video, you can see the Mao Zedong Mausoleum. His body is on display. I had heard that it looked more like a wax figure, but the body was in better condition than I thought. Mao's image is a controversial one. To some Chinese people he was the hero who brought about the People's Republic of China, to others he was the figure who instituted the Cultural Revolution, causing suffering to many Chinese peasants.
