trip to Seattle would be complete without a tour of the underground.
Seattle had to rebuild its city after an 1889 fire. They decided to
raise the sidewalks and streets of the city. For a few years people
had to use ladders to get from the street to the sidewalk! The
remnants of the old city are still visible to the public. Some say the
area is haunted!

These used to be skylights from the old underground streets. Today,
you can see people's shoes from below.
