If you
think people in Georgia aren't big fans of Abraham Lincoln -- try
hitting them with the name William Tecumseh Sherman. Sherman burned
all of Georgia from Atlanta, to Savannah during the Civil War.
Below is an interesting photo of that march -- the Union soldiers
burned down the bank on the left, but kept the saloon untouched.
Twisted sense of humor ... hence, the contention that the Civil War was "the War of Northern
Aggression." As "The Empire State of the South," Georgia is known
for their peaches. It's on the license plate, on the billboard
signs, and baseball fans will know of Hall of Fame batting champion Ty
Cobb who was nicknamed "The Georgia Peach." Atlanta is a nice city
-- reminded me of Buffalo without the snow.
