Question: What should I know about the reign of Julius Caesar? (scroll down for answer)         1. After civil war plagued Rome, Julius Caesar rose to power. He was elected consul in 59 BC and along with two others, made up a triumvirate of rulers. 2. Caesar became a dictator, or absolute ruler, who conquered land in Greece, Western Europe, Egypt, and Asia. 3. He gave citizenship to some in the conquered territories, and preached land reform to aid the poor. 4.
