2. The Great Society - a plan to help the poor, minorities, and the disadvantaged. Johnson declared a "war on poverty," and looked to increase education opportunities for all.

3. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 made all forms of discrimination illegal.

4. He did not run for a second full term, as the War in Vietnam tarnished his legacy.
