Definition: Election of 1932

Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt defeated Republican Herbert Hoover. Roosevelt campaigned for a "New Deal" for all Americans. This would be a more involved and liberal change to Hoover's approach during the Great Depression. His campaign song and slogan was "Happy Days are Here Again."
