Definition of: Bacon's Rebellion

1676 (100 years before 1776). Nathaniel Bacon led farmers in a rebellion against the rich planters, governor (Berkeley), and Native Americans of Jamestown. The rebellion led to the burning of Jamestown, but fizzled out when Bacon died. It is significant as a colonial indicator for class struggle in America.
