Francisco Pizarro conquered the Incas. The Incas were an incredibly advanced civilization. However, without the use of gunpowder, they were no match. They welcomed the Spanish thinking that Pizarro was a god, similar to the bearded Viracocha. The Spanish destroyed native culture all over the Americas deeming it to be pagan.
